The Neurodivergent Brain on Drugs v.2 (Community-Driven)

A first-of-its-kind scientific learning environment that is based entirely around the needs of the community it serves to teach

PARTICIPATE

Directly contribute to the progression and curriculum of the course and offerings by asking questions and submitting topics. Network  with other like-minded (often neurotype-matched) peers in a dedicated space with weekly themed discussions and "journal club"-style deep dives into specific topics. Share lived experiences and help build a community learning environment that is open and accessible to everyone.

LEARN

What D.A.R.E. should have been and what we should all know and understand about drugs. Short lecture modules (15-20 minutes each) that will build upon each other to form a foundational knowledge of pharmacology for neurodivergent brains. Questions submitted by the community will be discussed in detail and drive the direction of the future lecture modules. Get a behind-the-scenes look at my research as it evolves.

ADVOCATE

Become a pharmacology-focused science liaison tapped into the first community-driven science communication project that aims to evolve together. Learn to use data (and scientific basis) as an advocacy tool for destigmatizing personal and community experiences. New collaborations and ideas are encouraged. Help advocate for the use of real world evidence (lived experience)!

MEET THE TEACHER

Dr. Miyabe Shields, PhD is a queer, neurodivergent, stoner scientist and an avid psychonaut. An international award-winning scientist and educator, Miyabe has dedicated their life to studying and advocating for the intersection of cannabis and psychedelics as medicine for neurodivergent brains. Their perspective is created from a background of over 18 years of medical cannabis use from the grey market of Cali combined with over 13 years of academic and industrial research experience in endocannabinoid system pharmaceutical sciences and rare cannabinoid formulations. Miyabe is a recent graduate of The River Course by Dr. Joe Tafur, MD. on integrating ancestral knowledge of psychedelic medicines (and spiritual healing) into modern practice.
